Nara Club (奈良クラブ, Nara Kurabu) is a Japanese football (soccer) club based in the city of Nara, capital of Nara Prefecture. They currently play in J3 League, the third tier professional in the Japanese football league system.
History
The club was originally established in Nara in 1991 under the name Tonan Club (都南クラブ, Tonan Kurabu) and it became a member of the Football Association of Nara. The club went up to the top division in 1997.
It was renamed to its current name in 2008, and was promoted to the regional league in 2009. In 2014, they won the Regional League promotion series, earning promotion to the Japan Football League, where they played from 2015 to 2022.
On 5 November 2022, Nara was promoted to the J3 League for the first time in their history, after beating Veertien Mie in a narrow 1–0 win, with Sotaro Yamamoto scoring the winning goal in the 86th minute, to confirm their early access to the J3, a few rounds before the end of the season. The Nara-based club was promoted after eight consecutive seasons in the JFL. 15 days later at the same month, Nara secured their first JFL title, after drawing 1–1 with Sony Sendai at the last round of the competition. A ten-goal difference in Nara's favor them and FC Osaka was the determining factor that gave Nara the league title.
On 24 October 2023, Nara Club announcement officially granted J2 License after approval of Club Licensing Board.
O clube foi fundado em 1993 como Nara Asuka Football Club (奈良アスカフットボールクラブ, Nara Asuka Futtobōru Kurabu) e passou por várias mudanças de nome até adotar o atual em 2000. Em 2012, conquistou o título da Regional League, quarta divisão nacional, e garantiu o acesso à JFL, terceira divisão.
Após quatro temporadas na JFL, o Nara Club conquistou o título em 2015 e garantiu o acesso à J3 League. Na terceira divisão, o clube teve um início modesto, terminando na 12ª colocação em 2016 e na 9ª colocação em 2017. No entanto, em 2018, o Nara Club surpreendeu e conquistou o título da J3 League, garantindo o acesso à J2 League, segunda divisão nacional.
Na J2 League, o Nara Club teve um início difícil, terminando na 22ª colocação em 2019 e na 21ª colocação em 2020. No entanto, em 2021, o clube se recuperou e terminou na 10ª colocação, sua melhor campanha na segunda divisão.
O Nara Club é conhecido por sua abordagem ofensiva e seu estilo de jogo rápido. O clube tem um forte elenco, com vários jogadores experientes e talentosos. As principais estrelas do clube são o atacante Kenta Hagiwara, o meia Yuma Hiroki e o zagueiro Kenya Okazaki.
O Nara Club é uma equipe em ascensão no futebol japonês. O clube tem um forte elenco e um estilo de jogo atraente, e é um dos candidatos ao acesso à J1 League, a primeira divisão nacional.
