FK Alberts

Futbola klubs Alberts is a Latvian football club, that plays in the Latvian Second League (2. līga), the third-highest league of Latvian football. The club was founded in 2001 and named after Alberts Šeibelis, Latvia national football team captain before World War II. Originally it was from the city of Riga. From 2008 to 2014 the team played its home matches at Carnikava, but from the 2016 season they play at Salaspils.

At the end of 2006 FK Alberts created a joint team with FK Auda, but also retained a team in the Second League Vidzeme zone under the name of "Vecais Alberts". In 2008 a new club JDFS Alberts was created on the basis of club's youth system. In 2009 the club returned to the name of FK Alberts continuing to play as an amateur team.

O FK Alberts é um clube de futebol letão da cidade de Riga. O clube foi fundado em 1996 e atualmente joga na 1. līga, a segunda divisão do futebol letão.

O FK Alberts nunca conquistou nenhum título nacional, mas foi vice-campeão da Copa da Letônia em 2014. O clube também participou de competições europeias, como a Copa UEFA e a Liga Europa, mas nunca conseguiu avançar para as fases finais.

O maior rival do FK Alberts é o FK RFS, também da cidade de Riga. As partidas entre as duas equipes são conhecidas como o "Derby de Riga" e são sempre muito disputadas.

O FK Alberts manda seus jogos no estádio Daugavas, que tem capacidade para 10.000 espectadores. O estádio foi construído em 1956 e é um dos mais antigos da Letônia.

O FK Alberts é um clube modesto, mas que tem uma história rica e uma torcida apaixonada. O clube é um símbolo da cidade de Riga e representa a Letônia em competições internacionais.
